  • Hey man i have the same carb and twist throttle set up on a raptor I just picked up..can i convert the twist throttle back to thumb throttle and keep the same carburetor? or do i have to buy oem carbs in order to use the thumb throttle?

  • @fwunfitty When I bought the carb in '03 Edelbrock had an option for the thumb throttle. You will need to get the OEM thumb throttle unit and some new grips. Edelbrock should be able to get you the cable, here is the tech # that came with my carb kit 1-877-888-7504 ext 2

  • Was it hard to get the edle tuned in just right? I have one on my quad and I cant seem to find the sweet spot.

  • @bisket2003 I've had that carb on for 8 years and still to this day, every time I ride it I have to play with the idle. The elevation varies where I ride by about 2200 feet, so when I go up I have to adjust it, and adjust it again when coming back down. Kind of sucks, but I still like it better than the stock carbs.

  • @951waste SO you just tweak the idle? I know they have the idel, pump, and mid (needle jet) settings, all of which need to be in line in order for it to run just right.

  • @bisket2003 What does your spark plug look like? Do you have a remote idle screw adjuster? What number needle are you running?

Well anyway if youre serious you have to go all the way down to first gear and then its half a shift up to neutral
