@lillukey11 Actually she was 17 when she wrote it, but it's based on something that happened when a boy very close to her died when she was 10 :)

@lillukey11 Um, no actually. She had strokes at that age and she woke up in the hospital and watched a small boy praying for 3 hours in the bed next to her. The next day he died. She always wanted to write a song about it, but knew she had to be old enough for it not to be too soon. So she waited until she was 17. Big white room is the first official song she ever wrote and she was 17, not 10.
