  • systemonenetworks, ii was not done on purpose. You just need the Nokia phone and put it on top of the stereo. Call the number of the Nokia Phone with another phone(any make will do, and anywhere, can be at another place) and the first ring will shut down the stereo. :-)

  • This only happen when it is player CD; it is fine with the radio. We also discovered that it happens with other phones as well. We tested both our phones; which were Nokias. The Sony Car Stereo is CDX-GT460US. Sony Singapore doesn't take our complain seriously and did not believe us.

  • My friend installed a brand new Sony Car Stereo complete with CD changer in his Toyota car. We discovered that when he placed his mobile phone on top of the Sony, and when there is a call coming in, the Sony just switches off by itself.

  • This is why Edge/GPRS/AT&T/T-Mobile/pretty much ALL SIM card phones suck.

This type of severe interference doesn't occur with CDMA cellular phones.

I recently left ADT Security Services, and we had non-CDMA phones for communications. Some of these phone out there make alarm system keypads do really funny things.

  • hey i lost my remote for my sony and it would be cool to control it with my phone for the time being ......is this something you did on purpose? if so how did you do that?

or is it an error that was not wanted if so then sorry your having trouble with it maybe a newer phone would solve the problem

  • i have the exact same unit as this and mine seems fine

    i live in the uk

perhaps its the radio frequency transmited by the band of the phone in your region that messes with the stereo

i would try get hold of one of those line filters for the car stereo it blocks out most interference from devices

my car ariel has a built in noise filter perhaps this is why mines is ok

  • I have a similar problem with my 7" Boss Dvd Screen. When there is an incoming call, the screen starts flicking and when i aproach the phone to the head unit the screen losts signal and start searching the other 2 av inputs..weird...
