"They Can't Take Away Our Music" is a anti-war song which was recorded in September 1970. Taken from the album "The Black-Man's Burdon" (1971). It was released as a single and was a minor hit in the United States, Canada and Brazil. Later it was covered by Donna Summer.

I also wanted to say that my life is really fucked up and I just don't know how I can go on. Eric Burdon is the guy who's music gives me the energy to keep on. He's my religion, my god. Actually he's the one who sang "I'm Going To Change The World", and he changed some. He always said what he was thinking, a true icon.

I'm 17. And also people with 15 or 16 are listening to Eric Burdon. He IS music. Without him we hadn't all that stuff today, rap, metal, punk...Everybody listens to his music, because he made the music we have today.

Wha...???? An 'anti waR Song?' Um.. not a bit, monseuir- its about soothing the savage breast. Its a song about dealing with Poverty I'd say. That and the bad vibes ALL around. It's one thing they cannot take, so indulge in the wisdom, one of the smartest inspirationals in the ROck/soul Idiom and be comforted with the truth.
