CBC interview aired less than a day after Vancouver RCMP were forced to release the tape of the final moments of taser victim Robert Dziekanski's life. Their original story in tatters, police deploy Dr. John Butt, a BC forensic pathologist who has been contracted in the past to investigate the risks of taser use. His interview seems intended to lay the groundwork for the 'excited delirium' explanation of Dziekanski's death.

  • Ozzy ur right, and you Markoslr are an asshole and an anti-Semite!

On the other hand, I am also Polish and It's extremely offensive to hear anyone say that Robert died of "agitation". So did other 117 people all over America? I always thought of Canada as the last enlightened Country in America. I will have to rethink that now. For a moment there I just felt like watching an undercover PETA movie about cruel animal slaughterhouses. SHAME ON YOU!

  • why is he tryin to pass this off? HE DIED, so why is he tryin to blame it on drus and stuff. This device is not good, it shoots energy into a body and can kill them. Also he died like 2 secs after he was shoot and he did not recover. Funny how the police get a docter to try to cover the truth in there faver. COWARDS!

  • every person's skin impedance is different, hence the electrical current delivered varies greatly. According to wikipedia: "current of less than 1 mA (AC or DC) can cause fibrillation". Tasers are capable of delivering in excess of 1mA of Current.

  • oh my gosh, to funny ROFL

  • ...NOT TASER DISORDER!

  • its PAIN compliance and it incapacitates at the same time, its a GREAT TOOL!

and this bias "news reporter" should be fired! his so called "questions" have an implying tone that his mind is already made up, a good reporter would be searching for the truth, not trying to insert his/her own idea of what they think the truth is. he is implying that Taser deaths come back "inconclusive" really!? bullshit, comes back excited delirium, drug induced or not drug induced, a pathological disorder...

  • i know what he was feeling, ive felt it multiple times, its hurts! BIG FUCKEN DEAL! get over it, if you do something deserving to be Tased, make sure you arent high as fuck and you should be good to go! lol

  • you live in Canada, who gives a fuck what you think about 9/11, go fuck yourself, find your own problems to deal with. your delusional reality lies to you on a daily basis, figure your own shit about before you go trying to figure out the world's problems fucken idiot.

  • so bottom line, they dont kill, never have they been proven to kill! anyone that thinks they do, hasnt researched it out enough and have obviously no experience with the Taser, so their opinion is ignorant and empty. there is no factual information to link the Taser with any deaths.

  • methamphetamines and that is a dangerous mix. its not the Officers fault if some junkie gets high and later gets Tased. thats on the subject, its called responsibility and accountability, they wouldnt be in a situation where they could be Tasered if that had a sense of either of those.

no Officer has ever died for the Taser, weird...says to me, that as long as you arent high as a kite, some tweaker junkie, you'll be alright! a Tasing is a Tasing, the Officers get just as much juice.

  • point is, no "helpless" humans are Tased. they are non compliant subjects. they could have helped themselves by complying to the Officer's commands, but they choose not to. excited delirium is an actual pathological occurance that happens during extreme excitement. you add that with

  • The taser isn't as safe as he proclaimes it to be but what i find really disturbing is how voluntarely the police are using the taser.

They should really change the guidelines on when they should be using a taser.
