Robot Hacchan Dechonpa ロボット はっちゃん デチョンパ

Welcome to my review of yet another Dechonpa watch. This is the Anime Watch from Robot Hacchan!

Robot Hacchan was the first of the Toei Fushigi Comedy Series (東映不思議コメディーシリーズ) programs.

This falls well in line with the unintentional "firsts" that the Dechonpa line of watches covers. The Dechonpa Goggle Brace from Dai Sentai Goggle V is considered the first toy Henshin Brace. Uchuu Keiji Gavan has a Dechonpa and he is the title character in the first Toei Metal Hero Series show. Now there is the Robot Hacchan Dechonpa...

This watch is great. Clearly it is aimed at a younger child than the other Tokusatsu Dechonpa watches. It is brightly colored, the animation is cute, and the decals are more fun. The major difference with this watch is the function. Rather than opening upward, the hinge is on the side of the watch to accomodate the top of Hacchan's head. While the side-hinge is kind of annoying, i'd rather have that then have the sculpt of the face changed.

So of the three Tokusatsu Dechonpa released in 1982, i'd say that the Goggle Brace is the business, Gavan is the fantasy, and Hacchan is the party.
