I am installing a 302 v8 in my 1984 ford ranger 2wd. I was wondering what wiring will i have to do if i used a T-5 transmission.

hi, i have a 65 with a 289, is it suitable to use a t5 from a 94 mustang for the conversion?

Thanks for the comments. The kits offered are designed to work with the 86 to 93 Mustang T-5 Trans. The 94 and later have a longer input and would require a custom or modified crossmember.

I have a 351w for a 66 could I use a modern bell housing and bolt it up directly? What Is the tread size on the shifter and what is the electronic pigtail for? Sorry I have tons of questions! Nice video!

@MrKeithStone Hi, Thanks for the question. The 289, 302 & the 351W will all use the same 6 bolt bellhousing therefore the T5 housing will bolt up. The 4sp styled shifter has the same threads as the 65-67 orig. The pigtail is an easy way to conect the back up light switch. It will connect to your factory harness and then plug directly onto the back up switch in the side of the trans.
