Some national security experts believe that adhering to the theory of nuclear deterrence makes a country more secure. But does it really?

  • I believe in Nuclear Deterrence and I'm sick of this hippie crap that says otherwise, they have no concept of the real world.

  • @MrPaddyjmay So Henry Kissinger is a hippie, along with many other military and political leaders past and present?

  • Calling nuclear deterrence a myth is just wrong, because although arguably nuclear deterrence can't be proved to work, I can't be disproved either.

  • @Hierarchicalist "So in your eyes, imperialism necessitates the death of a country?"

No. You should read my post more carefully.

"Popular sovereignty and nationalism are jokes that the masses don't get."

    That's exactly what I think.

  • @thegreatapologist A nuclear bomb has only been used during warfare one time in history and it was used by the United States, the most honest "nation" in the world. :)

Don't get me wrong. I understand that it would be more dangerous for some countries to have the weapon than other countries, but the political ideologies that these countries hold, ideologies like liberalism, popular sovereignty and nationalism, make them all belligerent when it comes to "national defense".

  • @WarmongerWW3 So in your eyes, imperialism necessitates the death of a country? That's an ill conceived notion of political relations. Imperialism necessitates the death of country's sovereignty in some cases, but there are exceptions such as client states (the U.S. has plenty of those :). State sovereignty means shit to me unless I'm the sovereign. Popular sovereignty and nationalism are jokes that the masses don't get.

  • One slip, and the whole world goes to hell, the world has survived world wars, would it survive a nuclear war? I dont think so.

  • This video is really disappointing. The voice over artists, music, and 80s graphics all make this look like propaganda, not remotely educational or enlightening. Next time give us some facts - perhaps statistics on the weapons that already exist, how much they cost, or even how many times over they could destroy the earth. That would be so much more effective than a long-winded recitation of policy points and theories (and I do agree with most of them - just not the delivery).

  • Many countries and organizations need to start building nuclear weapons if they want to survive and/or prevent imperialism.

  • @nightkids805 HAHAHAHAHA
