Sunflower Arrangement

Brooks: Ken!

Kenneth: Hey!

Brooks: What's going on?

Kenneth: Oh, I've decided to throw together something for the center of this table. Most people have a problem with flower arrangements -- you go out and spend a ton of money on them. And they don't look that great. And really you don't have time. So what I did was I just picked up a bunch of sunflowers from the grocery store, found a terracotta saucer just from the garden room.

Brooks: So this is just like a foam block?

Kenneth: This is a something you keep around and holds water, you soak it in the sink for 10 minutes.

Brooks: That's a great idea. So you don't have to fill up a big pool of water?

Kenneth: Exactly. And it's all about buying masses of the same flower, even carnations, whatever, and you cut them up short and fill them up in any sort of container and you get the impact for a fraction of what it would cost.

Brooks: How long will this last?

Kenneth: This, it depends on the type of flower, some flowers will last a while, as will hydrangeas, so...

Brooks: Good idea. I'm usually big on plants in pots, but this is a great thing for parties.

Kenneth: And you can really do it with anything.
