This is a sixteen year old handheld PDA for people with limited vision. We call them note takers. There is no touch screen, in fact there's no screen period. This is the forerunner to the modern PDA as we know it today. There was a need for this type of device back in the mid eighties. I go into how this works, including some random reboots that it did on it's own. LOL

  • I saw a braille and speak clasick and a braille and speak scaller. I want one. That voice is the voice on the braille blazer. A braille imboser.

  • @gallagher123123 I am more than familiar with the Blazer. In Pre student teaching? The blazer the cooperating teacher had was always having issues.

  • he he that brings back memories. 2 of my friends had braille n speaks but sadly i didn't. I had a eureka thogh which hasn't survived well but i intend to repair it. thanks for the vid

  • @petesingingbloke Yer welcome. :)

  • I may be missing something here, but I thought you had an earlier video of the BNS, did you delete the video?

  • Possibly. This is of better quality, anyway.

  • I am so excited! I well know the Braille n' Speak is...so old school (to say the least) but I just ordered one off of ebay! I always wanted one of these. I had a BrailleNote when I was in school in NM, but after I left, I had to return it to the states Commission f/t Blind. I took that BrailleNote-everywhere! School, home (on weekends), journal...everything! Best of all, my BNS2 is coming in colors! My Favorite-Purple!

  • I love the voice. I wish my computer used that voice. I have seen a braille and speek and the skolor.

  • That Synthesizer sounds ALOT like Dolphin Orpheus.

  • It sounds like you are having problems with your braille n speak. I have had a problem with my type n speak where the unit created files without me doing it. It also didn't let me append to a file. Turned out to be a cmos battery problem

  • my name is Angela Randall. I own a type n speak. Good video about the braille n speak. when I went to the Ohio State School for the blind we had type n speaks and braille n speaks when I first came there

  • I spy with my little eye, a Game Boy Pocket under the table there.
