A black-clad Johnny Cash appears in and narrates this version of the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, which was shot on location in Israel. Cash performs a number of original songs in his signature style.

After seeing Johnny's depiction in "Walk the Line" as a drinking pill popping adulterer it is heart warming to see this work of his.

When I was only 4 or 5 I watched this movie and understood the Gospel and Jesus' sacrifice for the first time. I remember crying and giving my heart to God, through the years I have watched The Gospel Road so many more times that I needed to refocus or needed encouragement. I believe that God guided in the making of this movie, there is no other that presents the Bible truth so clearly without being tainted by human opinion. God works in ways and through people that we don't always understand.
