HBO's Rome - The Battle of Philippi, with a bit of Gladiator's soundtrack mixed in 1. because it rocks 2. because it fits in almost perfectly :)

While watching it for the first time I thought how cool it would be to mix the two, so there you go.

@kevinguy247 Yes indeed. According to wikipedia, the Romans enthusiastically celebrated birthdays with hedonistic parties and generous presents. In revulsion that the early Christians rejected the practice as inherently pagan. Now, I assume a cake is a hedonistic present.

It only got cancelled because the BBC couldn't afford their side of the deal with HBO to make it, its a shame, but big brother is much cheaper to make.
