  • my dad had a office at 41st and Victoria and I used to watch traffic alot these busses are alomost memorable to as I would see them pass by and stop blow our second story window in our accounting office

  • I like bus drivers in Western world, in Asia bus drivers doesn't like to talk anything bus.

These buses were delivered with manual steering, it was thought by management at the time, that drivers would "oversteer" and cause an accident due to how "easy" a power steering bus would drive. No buses here were power at that time. These trolleys then had a retrofit whereby they were fitted with "air assist" steering. This is the air discharge you hear when they steer a corner. Some were better than others, but all were easier than manual. This one was probably a little "hard".

  • Yes, but why is it so hard steering? ZiU-5, produced in the Soviet Union since 1959 till 1972, already had a pneumatic power steering, Škoda was equippted with the hydraulic power steering since 1977 - why the Flyer wasn't?

  • Loved riding on these, would love one for our trolleybus museum at Sandtoft, UK. We got our hands on a Edmonton trolley and it has been a huge draw for visitors.

  • ahh i rember this bus

    As do I. :)

  • @Electrify85

Governed at about 70-80 kph. Depended on each individual bus though.
