The Dangers of Gurus & Spiritual Celebrities

Many attracted to the promises of gurus, other spiritual celebrities, and various new age/spiritual ideas. However with in this arena there are many pitfalls, mis-steps, and traps which can keep us stuck and prevent the growth and transformation we deserve. In this video I share with you 3 major pitfalls and how we can deprogram them to achieve the free flow that we all desire.

outline:

-the idea that they have attained some height or reached the top of the mountain and are now able to look down from above to guide you.
--implicit in this is the idea that there is an end point or a peak to reach.
--this isn't really true in reality as the nature is about constant movement, flux, and transformation.
--so this means that we shouldn't plateau or peak in our practice. It should be always flowing and transforming allowing us to grow more and learn more.
--whatever level we're at, is just a level.
--why would you want learn from someone who has peaked and plateaued and does not understand this underlying natural principle.

-implicit that only they have access to cosmic wisdom and connection.
--most alternative, new age or spiritual people tend to shy away from monotheistic religious organizations, so it ironic that this is essentially the same idea.
---meaning god or higher consciousness is up here, then the pope or guru is next, then somewhere down below we exist.
--the reality is that we always have and always will be connected to cosmic wisdom and insight. We don't have to do anything to get this or establish this. Our focus should rather be on removing the blocks and limiting beliefs which hinder the flow of energy and information.

-spiritual celebrities
--most people tend to shy away from mainstream Hollywood celebrities as well as government structures, yet they deny it over there but apply it over here.
Ex. So and so attained x degree of Samadhi
She can do that yoga pose
They meditate for x hours per day

I do agree with what your saying, however I wonder if you think that different people are on differing levels of this life journey. Meaning that some people can more easily access or become one with truths while others can know them, believe them yet still are unable to become them. and maybe in such cases a spiritual leader/adviser might be the inspiration that some people need to believe in the truth that they can not fully grasp themselves....?

Truthfully, I never knew a Master who didn't have a Master starting out. The process starts with a LONGING for something greater. This begins a Search that goes down many winding roads, until the SEEKER meets the MASTER, who can instruct them in the ways of SPIRIT. It's like someone wanting to learn chess or carpentry or physical fitness. They find a Teacher who can instruct them in the best ways to reach their goals, in how to "remove" the obsacles that block their greatest achievements.
