Anchor drop, funny!!!

This is a video taken during sea trial of a newly built merchant vessel in Germany. When testing the anchor winches it became obvious that something was wrong with the brake!

The water doesn't need to be deep at all, the weight of the chain even if the water was 25 feet deep would be tons from ocean floor to surface,so the chain will just keep building up speed as it fell,and piled up in a mound at the bottom.

I take it all the smoke was from the chain ripping the clutch and brake mechanism to pieces and overheating the entire mechanism?
