Hear that awful sound?? This is my old 2004 Nissan Armada. I no longer own it. Nissan had already replaced the entire front brake assemblies after a zillion issues from owners. A year or so later my brakes made this awful sound & felt like broken glass was betw the pads & rotors...Nissan corrected the issue as a "software re-programming" for $100.00 labor. Then a few days over one year later (when the warranty for THAT fix was up) they're doing it again...so it costs ANOTHER $100.00 to fix it...So basically $100/yr to "reprogram it." Nice...

  • Never had the issue again. Got rid of the vehicle about 4 months ago though.

  • There is a TSB out for this NTB06-040. I had this happen and I had the procedure done.

  • I just bought the 04 Armada 3 weeks ago and have had this happen twice already.

  • I went to the dealer and they told me to pay $930 to reset the computer and change out the faulty master cylinder sensor so I am contacting all the media, local and national to make them aware that there is a potential hazard here that NISSAN will not recognize as a RECALL. I'm sure TOYOTA won't mind getting the media off their backs for awhile. The question is, Does somebody really need to die before they fix their problems?? Thank for posting this!!

  • This is a long shot, but before I buy an 04 here, does anyone know a DYI fix or bypass for this brake system?

I realize the demographic of this type of car probably doesn't have many smart mechanically inclined people, but I don't mind bypassing if it involves some splicing some wires or fooling an ECU if its possible.

  • Same problem here. I was good after the reprogram $99, but the safety issue is back. Did you have any more issues since?

  • RECALL!!!!! But I'm sure u know about this by now.

  • it's like our cars problem the brake ..... it's because the brake pump i'm sure

    check it
