@LauraLea38 Yes it is normal in some cases to feel pain, especially on the part of your body that has been out of alignment before and gone untreated. When adjusting it "wakes up" the nerves so you might get pain. If you feel pain see your chiro on the very next day again, if not too severe, pain will go away on the third day. As far as what taltrainer is saying, yes imbalances etc. But chiros adjust physical therapists correct imbalances.

OMG.....I used both the foam roller and tennis ball last night before I went to bed and there was NO PAIN while I first went to sleep. Later that night, I used the tennis ball again, and the pain was less. I was in shock!!! Didn't really think this would work that well and THAT FAST!!! I am praying it works tonight too (2nd night). I am in pain tonight from my adjustment!!! Why does these chiro's make it hurts worse sometimes?

Let me know how it goes.

The goal of this techique is to treat the cause of the pain and not the pain symptoms. If you can feel less pain without surgery and without taking a pill I think it's worth a try first. If you are looking for a pill, your doctor is the best place to be asking about that.
Do you know if it is normal to experience pain after chiropractic adjustments?

I'm a little squeemish when it comes to chiropractors. Some are great while others are bone crunchers. If you can find a Chiro that also offers ART (active release techniques) it usually means they understand the limitations of bone adjustments and recognize that many issues are soft tissue injuries and imbalances.
If they aren't making you feel better I would consider dropping them. I'm glad the Foam Roll is helping even a little. It can be a miracle worker sometimes.

Question, my girlfriend has been going to outpatient PT rehab weekly, she has tendonitus in her right knee, what else can she do to help her with the pain? Sometimes it is so bad that it will bring her to her hands and knees in tears, other days it doesn't exist at all. Thanks

She is welcome to try this technique, but they should be able to get her on the right path in PT. She should keep an activity/pain journal. Maybe she will be able to find certain activities that are causing pain the next day, so she can avoid them. For tendonitis she should definitely be stretching. On a bad day it is possible this technique will help. My wife has used the foam roll on her calves and it has done wonders for her plantar fascitis. Hope this helps.
