Turkey's Secularists are the fanatics who are a threat to the country and are the real threat to freedom in the country and the region. There're many religious political parties in power in the EU however they have in no way endangered the secularism of their countries. Turkey is still confused and still doesn't understand that there can be seperation of state and religion and that there is no need for fundamentalist secularists.

All the ignorant responses from the Turks here prove why Europe doesn't want Turkey in the EU and why the Middle East has no respect for Turkey either. Attaturk destroyed Turkey and tried to make it something it is not: Western and to ensure he achieved his goal he massacred 1.5 million Armenians and established a millitary dictatorship. Turkey is not a democracy regardless of what the blind posters here keep writing.

no fuck you you my ignorant friend. Turks have defended the religion for over a 1000 years. So bow down and show some respect. When the British came all you so called muslims had no problems bending over and killing turks for a bit of wealth. The quran even says you are not to force your beliefs on others. So to have sharia law is a SIN, a big SIN!
