http://ipaintgirls.com for more tips and tutorials on drawing and digital painting, plus photo editing.

In this video, I show some tips and tricks to foreshortening. The tricks and tips I show will help you draw figures from your mind much easier. Once you can dress up manniquins, and once you can draw manniquins from your mind, you will be able to draw any difficult pose.

I talk about some practices you can do to get better at drawing manniquins and at putting the anatomy on them.

  • Are there any foreshortening videos that actually explain how to foreshorten objects? Rather than just "Here, foreshorten this, Like so..." *headdesk*

  • @likebroccoli I can't remember if it's in this video, but I have made a general video on forshotening, which is what you're asking for.

  • Does any of it really change for girls? I mean they're built a liittle differently...

  • @TangibleLuv The manniquin is just thinner.

  • since you don't draw these on paper what do you use to draw these? it looks really cool using a computer program but do you use a mouse?

  • Awesome video... I just realized how much I suck at foreshortening. Practice, practice, practice... thanks.

  • Great Tutorial, great use of photoshop!

  • you don't really need too many comments just to convey that you're good at your job. in fact your work can simply be regarded as best here. i wish you did some videos on real comic book pages, i mean to say that i want a tutorial wherein you teach us to fit a person in dynamic environments. i hope you understand that. an effective complete picture has every elemennt dynamical in nature, including the environment. i would appreciate a tutorial on shading techniques. thank you

  • @likebroccoli Thanks, I found it (the pencil tutorial). Really helps. :)

  • this is very useful :)

  • i love this video, since this is my taste of drawing. i would apreciate it if you could show us how to make more animations. different poses in other words.
