If you dumb Dutchmen had not voted for Apartheid , SA would be a very different place. Any settlement would have been on our terms. I was up there too in 1986-87 and, yes, some of the details of this move look like a load of shit, but the sentiment is about right. I didn't want to be there and I did my duty, reluctantly - and I never shot any prisoners. Ultimately, what the fuck were we doing up there? That war was created by our useless politicians to justify their own existence and their version of the military/industrial complex. The whole war was a crock of shit and they were our enemies because we made them so.
