There are also all kinds of sheltie hybrids out there. They often make just as great a dog.

It is the herding instinct and the years of working with people that makes the breed so tuned in to what their humans want.

Shelties train themselves for the most part. Tactics that you have to ise with other dogs, are not needed with Shelties. There can be a downside to this, becuase if you scold them, they can get very upset and they will not forget as easily as other dogs will. I love them myself!!!
