Dogboy & Mr. Dan are back, this time talking all about the Occupy Wall Street protests. Dogboy knows a thing or two about economic equality, peace, love and derivatives! A Mark Fiore political animation.

  • "These people down there, they’re not the counter-culture. They’re the culture. They don’t want free love. They want paid employment. They don’t hate capitalism. They hate what’s been done to it. And they resent the Republican mantra that the market perfectly rewards the hard-working and punishes the lazy, and the poor are just jealous moochers who want a handout. Yeah, because if there’s one group of people who hate handouts, it’s Wall Street." - Bill Maher

  • @voyeurdug Good observations. (There are some incompatible/far-out demands among the big tent of OWS). The main point is that SOMEBODY had to say the emperor had no clothes---Wall St and its careless practices---since all politicians, even Obama, who I like, seem so cozy with the uber-rich. It is truly grassroots: no millionaire had to secretly fund it to make a phony astroturf roots movement.

  • Ah, finally, Fiore gets it: The Occupy Movement is indeed our best hope to regain our future. Our future has been stolen from us by the 1% and their shills, tools and flunkies starting with Obama and his thugs, almost all of the Congress of cowards and the spineless Supreme Court -- including the Democratic appointees. But we the 99% can win: join Occupy (peaceful, effective, continuous protest). Hey Mark how about doing a cartoon on how Occupy is winning despite the 1%'s pepper spray democracy

  • @DuctapePenguin I think it is fair to say that the financial sector has plundered society for enough money to make up for every bum sat on benefits combined. Receiving hundreds of billions in free money, which is still continuing to this day, as a reward for their failure.

A wall street speculator doesn't hire staff, they don't produce anything of intrinsic value; or build any infrastructure. They don't cut anyone's hair or brush anyone's floor. They're gamblers, making money with money.

  • @DuctapePenguin oh right, so if someone develops an illness or has an accident and can't work, you're just happy to throw them out on the street with a begging bowl?

  • The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don't have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don't get to enjoy the fruit of their labor. You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving.

  • I wish the Dog boys significantly outnumbered the Mr. Dans.

  • @BlameTheFirst Well I blame algor.

  • I don’t thank Wall Street. I don’t blame it either. I blame Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

  • This should be seen everywhere!

  • GREAT PIECE MARK!

  • And let's thanks Washington, including Bush AND OBAMA, for giving these scumbags bucket loads of money in exchange for their fat campaign contrinutions. Hope and change, my ass. Obama is one corrupt, lying son of a bitch.

And the media still has not figured out that the $535 million to Solyndra went into his campaign donors pockets.

Wall Street will screw you, but they love to use government to do it. Government is the problem.
