Great Information! If only the media and the public in general would pay attention!

There should be levels. Someone like Christopher's father should have been the lowest level offender therefore not made to list himself as an offender and then he wouldn't have had to move into an area where there was a worse sex offender. Consenual sex with 16 year olds should not be illegal! Teenagers are screwing all over the place as it is!

Some good points, but what you failed to EMPHASIZE was the fact that Christopher's father was one of the "NON-VIOLENT" sex offenders of which you spoke-having only had consentual sex with a minor who's parents pressed charges-revenge. A one time offense w/ a consenting teenage girl that will haunt him forever.THE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY CERTAINLY NEEDS AN OVERHAUL-its very "watered down" with these one-time Non-violent offenders who belong in a different category altogether. Changes are needed

the fault for this lies directly with lawmakers in the state of Georgia. if they had not passed a residency restriction law that forced Christopher Barrios father to move as he is a registered so in the state of Georgia christopher would still be alive today as they would not have been forced to live near the edenfields

We have no idea what happened, how that poor little boy died and at who's hand. Just because some one has been arrested and charged does NOT mean that they are guilty.
I see was too much assumption of guilt in this country just because the police say this, that or the other. They make mistakes, they are human too. It gets so political now and so many people make these assumptions of guilt, that it's almost a forgone conclusion of a guilty verdict no mater what evidence is shown or not shown.

How many children will we sacrifice before we figure out that these laws are counter-productive? The public and politicians need to heed the research and develop programs that actually work instead of "feel good legislation" that helps no one. Preventing offenders of all kinds from living a normal life only increases their risk for reoffending.
The Edenfields should never see the light of day, but these situations are incredibly rare and should not dictate policy.

I just hope that ALL the Edenfield get the death penalty: George AND his parents. What they did was cruel, heartless, uncaring and callous. They are nothing but a bunch of disgraceful people and they will burn in hell when they're dead. I know that their friend Donald is also involved, but I believe that it was only AFTER poor little Christopher had died. So I don't mind if he gets life in prison. R.I.P Chris! You're now safe in heaven.

Heinous, I think is appropriate. But did you get the message that the child would not have been around these people to begin with if Barrios father had not been forced to move next to these people?
