@PeterOzanne Thanks yeah, it doesn't sound ridiculous, though a good bit watered down from Yeats' statement with some silly lines like 'innocence is drowned in anarchy.' (Not that I'm against the attempt to rewrite in theory--certainly daring!) But that world-music-y sound leaves me cold too. I prefer her early production.
@Bernie150 If you are into other forms of music, etc, I suggest an adaptation of this poem by Joni Mitchell - more pleasing on the ear, and gets the message across. Check the one with the still photos video of the Iraq war and GW Bush, showing the relevance of Yeats's words to today's crises. Best regards. BTW, it's under "Slouching Towards Bethlehem"

I'm sorry but this sounds ridiculous.
Of all Yeats' poems this is surely the least suitable for accompaniment.
English is ill-suited for the art-song in general.
Maybe this would work in German translation?
