Some older Tool songs from their albums Opiate and Undertow. I play more in Dropped D than Standard so I am more comfortable in this video than my first one. Still a few mistakes, but definitely better as far as that goes - and this one was recorded in one take also.

Song list:

1) Rush - A Passage to Bangkok (Intro to Cold and Ugly - Adam Jones played this on a recent tour)
2) Cold and Ugly
3) Sweat
4) Flood
5) Star Spangled Banner (Intro to Crawl Away - I just did this because the ending note of SSB is the same note that starts CA)
6) Crawl Away
7) Undertow

Let me know what you think!

  • are you sure ur doing the passage to bangkok right it sounds and looks different to the way ive seen alex lifeson doing it. otherwise pretty good.

  • You are correct - it is a bit off. It is played differently when tuned to drop D though, so wouldn't be played exactly like Lifeson does it.

  • good stuff. along with down strumming try to palm mute the open notes on the cold and ugly riff

  • it was good but it kinda sounded out of tune

  • hehe the title ryhmes =]

but yeah might wanna set your amp differently, itll sound better. tools old stuff ussually has a really high sounding tone, i ussually turn the bass WAY down and the mids kinda lower than ussual, trebel all the way up, then turn the amp a little louder to compensate.

  • Alright... but keep practicing. =]

  • bad played, look at the opiateofthemasses videos

  • yeh and in the cold and ugly starting riff try to do down strumming rather than alternating, itll sound way better. keep rockin man.

  • i concur with previous comment - massive riff

  • Yeahhhhhh you rock !!! Come to Buenos Aires an dplay in my band i need old school rock. Long life to Hard rock and stoner sound music !!!!!
