It was a very cold, and very windy morning on the summit block of Blanca Peak. There was a large "batch" of hoarfrost on most of the rocky surfaces above 4,300 metres (14,108 feet). Although not a pretty sight, since my face was so frozen, I thought I'd try a bite of hoarfrost. I found it to be cold, very light-weight, and crunchy - not too bad considering the miserable conditions I was experimenting in! Nevertheless, I moved on a made it to the 4,372 metre (14,345 feet) summit just a few minutes later.
