I was in Nara Kouen in Nara, Japan, (a large park that houses hundreds of natural deer) recently on my trip to Japan. I was filming the deer all around me and my host brother (aka: boy in the black shirt) when I zoomed in on a man who went to feed the deer crackers, as is custom for park-goers. Well, apparently, the normally harmless deer desired more than just crackers from the man, as they began to chew his shirt. He panicked and ran off, leaving his young son to stumble in confusion behind and the deer to chase after him. xD Classic.

  • Dont run! thats gonna get em' pissed then they'll really attack you!

  • Actually, these deer were really gentle. Even when people ran or shooed them away, they stayed sweet. :)

  • arent these sitka deer or something?

  • I don't think they're sitka, though they do look pretty similar. I'm actually not sure what they are. Just "shika", Japanese deer. :)

  • are theese deer wild or farmed

  • I'm pretty sure they're wild. They roam free without any fencing, zookeepers, etc. For some reason, though, they choose to stay in the boundaries of the park where the people are. (Probably because they get fed every day by everyone!)
