Recall, Ms. McKinsey was one of the few favored daytime actors who could take 6-8 weeks off (usually at once). So every late summer (usually August and September) "Alexandra" always managed to have some crisis or business trip to take and was "out of town". Thus, her name doesn't show up in the credits on GL for the month of September, 1989.
McKinsey wrote her own contract. Also,remember that "the return of Alexandra" in Nov 1989 was a huge GL storyline.
