I'm in south Florida and it's everywhere down here. I absolutely LOVE cane and just had some earlier this evening.
When I was a kid and didn't have money for candy we'd snag a stalk or two of it from the field nearby and cut it up and boy was it goooood :)
Some folks don't care for it but most do. If you've never tried it it's a real treat though. Just have to be careful preparing it because you can cut yourself easily, as the stalk is very hard and requires a bit of skill to properly prepare.
