  • Man i can not wait for boot camp! This is so motivating! Oorah! I ship to boot camp July 19 next year!!

  • ah, you're going to boot camp huh? This video is motivating. I'm going to be posting more soon. Just remember that at first is SO hard and all they do is yell at you! Just know that it's all a mind game and you'll be okay. Just do what they say and keep your composure at all times. It's hard VERY hard, and even being a "poolie" cannot prep you for this. Just get in GREAT physical shape before you go, and get ready for very little sleep and lots of difficult physical stuff daily!

  • ther are some videos on youtube by user "ptanderson9" and "giotheblacklatino" You'll definitely want to watch them. Receiving is VERY difficult and a BIG shock to the phyche and physically too - 46 hours with NO sleep. Watch them now so that you're mentally prepared for 'receiving.' Also, get ready for the Crucible. It's VERY hard and it's another 2 days with little or no sleep - you'll be physically and mentally challenged. Also make sure to purchase your photos and video b4 you leave

  • And lastly, if your friends/family can only go for one of the two days, have them attend FAMILY DAY - it's much more fun and interactive than Graduation Day is .. trust me on that one! Just let them know that Family Day is very regimented so to eat early and get on base on time. Also, tell them to have video and cameras rolling the whole time and to bring their own water bottles (it'll be hot outside all day long). You'll DEFINITELY enjoy lunch at the Bayview restaurant on Family Day!

  • The instructor here was my Senior Drill Instructor! Go SSGT KING!!

  • Ah, thanks! Staff Sgt. King, we wondered who he was. I do not recall him introducing himself during our 'family orientation.' We didn't record that whole orientation thing in the courtyards, and now I'm sorry that we didn't. He was totally awesome. I have video of what we did in the theatre with him too, but it's too long for one You Tube video, so I'm going to see if I can split it into two and post it. It was cool - totally funny! Semper Fi!!!!

  • Lol "eyeballs! Clicks sir! Ears! Open sir!" I remember it just like it was yesterday.

  • Setle down, jarhead. Take all of this from a Marine Corps veteran. Get in the best physical shape that you can and leave the rest to them (you don't have a choice about that anyway.) This is serious shit. Don't take it lightly. If you smoke, stop. If you drink, stop. If you have a girlfriend, say goodbye. Your priorities will change and your focus will change and they should. But don't say you can't wait for boot camp. What you CAN do is be ready for it. You have time so do it. Semper Fi!

  • I can never forget that voice screaming in my ear back when I was there.... LOL
