The first recording I heard of Handsome Molly was by the Stanley Brothers and the one that really caught my attention was by the early Country Gentlemen. Charlie Waller and I would pick it together when we had the time.

  • I'm not sure why this says "Country Gentlemen tune". I first heard it from The New Lost City Ramblers and later Ian & Sylvia recorded it in the early sixties. Grayson & Whitter's version was recorded in the late 1920s. All of these are essentially the same tune. The country Gentlemen didn't have a particularly unique version.

  • yay i like the fast version
