Alnico has a sonic quality(it compresses and softens the attack,makes it sound slightly spongier in a good way)It adds more depth to the tone and response.
As for a speaker I think the US made speaker "Warehouse black and Blue" is as good as the Blue and a little cheaper.Weber offers many nice alnico speakers as does Eminence.
I have a Red Fang and the amp likes that speaker.They're like $170 shipped.

Hey you have the same setup I am looking to get... a hollowbody electric and the AC15... do you think the Alnico blue speakers make that much of a difference?
