You Patrick Josephy Quinn are a turn-coat; anytime you can call for a sitting governor to resign, without giving that governor a chance to defend himself, that is disgraceful. Moreover, since you have taken over the governorship, you have proved that you are no-good for the citizens of Illinois. Becuase all your doing is what House Speaker Michael Madigan tells you to do, and keeping your nose up his ASS!!!

In the cae of the former Executives Bush / Cheney, evidence is in great abundance of "high crimes [felonies] & misdemeanors" - the list is long. All you have to do is examine Ramsey Clark's or Dennis Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment to see that. However, a political agreement was obviously made between House Majority Whip Nancy Pelosi (Dem) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Dem) that tabled any attempts by anyone to impeach Bush & Cheney. And who would have gained the Presidency? Pelosi.

Yes, you are correct about the lack of specific reference to "high crimes and misdemeanors" in the Illinois State Constitution (Article IV, Section 14). However, IT IS IMPLIED that there must be evidence before the Senate tribunal of some criminal activity:
("Senators shall be upon oath, or affirmation, to DO JUSTICE ACCORDING TO LAW".
Also, "An impeached officer, whether convicted or acquitted, shall be LIABLE to [judicial] PROSECUTION, TRIAL, JUDGEMENT and PUNISHMENT ACCORDING TO LAW."

Depressing since Nixon resigned as US President in 1974..

What the hell is so hard to understand about this?
The man tried to sell a senators seat. thats illegal!
All that's legally required in any legislative impeachment trial is evidence indicating some illegal or criminal activity & a good faith vote by the tribunal. But,the RIGHT TO DUE PROCESS, which Blagojevich has repeatedly asserted, DOES NOT APPLY to an executive that's the subject of an impeachment.trial by a legislature. In other words, in an impeachment trial, no witnesses / evidence brought by the executive subject of the impeachment trial in their defense need be heard or even entertained.
