Vernian Process wrote this song from the perspective of a brass birdie that was once placed on the top of cameras to hold subjects' attention during extended exposures. You can see that the birdie even makes an appearance atop Luther Gerlach's camera while he captures the group to develop a wet plate collodion image of them. This is the actual photo that appears at the end of the video.
