0:00 Are Mormons Christians? Joel Osteen says "Yes!"
0:02 Mormonism teaches that God lives on a planet called Kolob.
0:08 It also teaches men can become gods and that God himself is an exalted man.
0:14 The founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith, taught HE would sit in judgment of the world.
0:21 He also taught that Jesus and Satan were spirit brothers.
0:26 He once prophesied that Quakers lived on the moon.
0:32 But many Christians don't know the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.
0:40 Why
0:47 Fox News/Chris Wallace: And I've got to ask you the question, whether it should be or not in this campaign, is a Mormon a true Christian?
0:55 Joel Osteen: "Well, in my mind they are."
0:58 Wallace: "When people start talking about Joseph Smith the founder of the church and the golden tablets, in update New York and God assumes the shape of a man...do you not got hung up on those theological issues?"
1:12 Osteen: "I probably don't get hung up on them because I haven't really studied them or thought about them...you know, I just try to let God be the judge of that. I mean, uh, I don't know...I certainly can't say that I agree with everything that I've heard about it, but from what I've heard from from Mitt when he says that Christ is his savior, to me that's a common bond."
1:32 The bible teaches clearly to "contend earnestly for the faith." Jude 1:3.
1:39 But we must learn how.
1:45 Vignette starts: Door knocks...
1:47 Woman answers door: "Can I help you?"
1:49 Mormon missionaries: "Hi! We're from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."
1:53 Are you ready?

Can a Mormon also be a Christian? This short video illustrates what Mormons believe and shows how the typical "Christian," response, even by Christian leaders like Joel Osteen, to the idea that Mormons are Christian, is so inadequate.

  • NO ONE should judge a culture, religion, ethnicity, or race based strictly on what is on TV or the mal doings of the few distinct individuals.. WE ARE ALL HUMANS.. .. There is good and bad in every race, religion, & culture.. Love Everyone.. Hate a few.. Judge No one

  • @siempresola77 So based on your inference, should I assume when you disagree with someone that I can call that hate?

  • lets all read the book of mormon and lets see the difference among each of us ,because the bible confuses everybody, why,see all the religions arguing about it all the time.

  • @varelaarcadio4 Yes, let's do. What difference would you like to highlight first?

  • They teach God lives near a STAR called Kolob.

Joseph Smith did not prophecy but said there were tall people dressed like Quakers living on the Moon.

I hate Mormonism and believe it's a cult, but if you are going to attack them you need to be 100% accurate or they will disregard everything you have to say and begin ad hominem attacks on you. They will avoid the issues and focus on semantics and ANY error you make.

  • @Sk8er408 it is difficult to tell meaning from a post, wasn't offended. I will take your word that it wasn't meant in a manner to denigrate another. But, I have been slapped for the Gospel, made fun of, been in jail and stood my ground as a Christian. There isn't much any could say or do to offend me. I am only a great sinner, saved by His wonderful, awesome, undeserved, majesty and Grace and I am still praying for you. Love in Jesus.

  • @OneDayCloserToHim

No... I use it in an affectionate way. Sorry you are offended by it.

  • there is so many interpretations of the bible! everyone pulls out these scriptures, oh he said this and he said that. well thats why we have the book of mormon, to help interpret the bible better and for a better understanding. most of this crap about mormons isn't true just p.s. i am mormon and when they say something like joseph smith is going to judge us. thats not true, joseph smith is just a prophet, nothing more.

  • @Sk8er408 , "son"? My father, was born in 1919, and father-in-law born in 1911 also called me son, I don't meet many old enough to call me that anymore. Unless you were born before WWII. But of course, you use this in a derogatory way to try an intimate you are above some and giving advice to an inferior. The Holy Spirit gives me empathy and compassion for others. I have no need to denigrate others to make myself look or feel important. I am just one beggar telling another where to find bread.

  • @jimbarrus, thank you for making the point of the Trinity. The Bible does say there are 3 persons in the Godhead, and One God and He knows of "NO" other. No, other, none. I understand you struggle with God being 3 persons in one. I am finite also, of limited understanding. But, since, over and over He says there is only One God. I will take Him at His word. It is true whether I understand it or not because, He says so. 1Tim1:17"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, THE ONLY wise GOD".

  • @Sk8er408, if I gave you one scripture, you would say that isn't enough, if I give you many many saying the same thing, you say context. Jesus in context in John, says, He is God. Here is context. John is on the isle of Patmos and God has sent him an angel, he has just been told that He will return and every eye shall see Him. Then He says, Rev 1:8 KJV

"I am Alpha and Omega, THE beginning and the ending, saith THE Lord, which IS, and which was, and which is to come, the ALMIGHTY". unclear? How?

  • to those who say There is one God -God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost (Spirit) I direct them to the baptism of Jesus Christ. He was baptized, the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove came upon Him and God spoke. Three beings, one purpose. to bring forth the immortality and Eternal Life of Man!

  • @OneDayCloserToHim

So the Father is greater then the Son ye the Son is the Almighty???

You need to keep reading in John 10 and just just a select vs here and there... context son... get some.
