What a mix of different footage from different parts of ww2 at 2:44 you can see Panzer IV H with side armor. Now if they had that during fall gelb :P they would have steamrolled them even more.

@TheExsoldier1 The British gave Trade & Loans to France 1939-40 till the fall.
The British sent BEF into Norway,France,Beligum, etc, etc. Also it was the British who told Stalin about the Axis plans to invade. Nazi-Soviets were Allies at that point, The Soviets supplied the Axis.
The first British supplies, etc arrived for the Battle of Moscow 1941.
Britain made too many mistakes, Sending Amies around the world on too manty fronts, Giving supplies that they desperate for.

@martynrobin121 Yes I fully agree you are right Martyn.
The US not only where on the victorious side they became rich! and of course lendlease was not until a year later. Did the british give loans pre 1940 or after barbarossa?
-
@TheExsoldier1 The US "Arsenal of Democracy" You mean the Bankers?
The US trade was vital, Also in the best interests of America=PROFIT & GAIN!
The Lendlease came 1941, Battle of Britain was 1940 Fronts in Europe-Africa,etc 1940.
The British also gave loans & traded with the Soviet Union. It was all about Interests.
The British did not come close to war with the Soviets, Tthe Anglo-France Alliance was scared of an Nazi-Soviet Alliance, As 1939-41 shows.

@jumabo08 You idiot. The US done nothing but trade, During the Battle of Britain 1940. The Soviet were Allies with the Axis and supplied their war-machine against the British in Europe,Africa,Mid-East,etc 1939-41, Just research!
It was the RAF outnumbered, Who crushed the best Air-Force in Europe.
It was impossible for the Axis to even invade Britain due to logistics.
So why should Britain thank the Russians?
Why should Britain thank the US? Trade was vital for both nations.

@AnAutumnsDay "The Germans let them go"? You foolish idiot.
Adolf Hitler gave orders for the Luftwaffe to exterminate the Allies trapped at Dunkirk.
The Royal Navy, Said they would be able to pick up 50,000 at most. However over 300,000 British-French were saved from certain defeat.
The German commander made it clear, The Allies were trapped with no-escape, The Germans knew nothing about Dynamo, They thought it was impossible to evacuate an Army in such short time.RULE BRITANIA

@jumabo08 In 1940 the soviet union was not at war with Germany in fact it was allied in its invasion of Poland and Britain came close to declaring war on the soviet union during the winter war of 1939/40. The united states was as roosevelt stated "the arsenal of democracy" and supplied the UK with weapons and equipment that was to prove vital under lend lease. The Brits would go on to defend themselves against the Luftwaffe and ultimately win the battle of Britain.

@KevinJKtheman Yes that is correct the French traditinonally had a large army and 1940 was no exception. the BEF was generally under French command and was an experiment of sorts as expeditionary warfare as an exact science was just being trialled.

To answer a few questions. Hitler called a halt to the panzer advance on the 24th of May why he did this is still under debate. It is thought that it may have been to allow Georings Luftwaffe to finish the job. The order was recinded on the 26th but this gave the RN as well as the British and French armies valuable time to set up a rear guard action and rescue many more from the beaches.
The BEF entered Belgium on the 11th of May to counter the German invasion of Belgium which began on May 10th
@TheCrabPope I would suggest ,that as military actions go, what the German military were doing was holding back and pulling it's punches and giving the British, only a bit of a " rough send off " back to Blighty and nothing more.

The UK was not just an island in the North Sea , it was also massive Global Empire.( hard to believe) The Germans , outsmarted and outfought, the British and the British fearing the BEF would be anhiliated in Dunkirk desperately sent delibaretly false and misleading communiques to the Germans , that a peace would be concluded, if only they were allowed to withdraw from France and that is why the Germans didn't utterly anhiliate them at Dunkirk i.e. The Germans let them go!
