@paulybarr -This is not the place for sexual politics go away idiot.
-
It's my favourite version. Truly amazing :')

You have to put it in context he was an actor and in those days it really would have harmed his career by coming out,the 80s were a very different place and time for gay and lesbian people.Bigotry and prejudice were almost institutional.
-
@paulybarr can you not appreciate the ladies even if you are gay? I don't think he was just saying it to appease the men there.
-
so rich and so well done unaccompanied

@cavaleith 04 mscentrum A nice version, odd setting, oddlly uncomfortable joke as preamble.
-
@paulybarr I completely agree - he did not need to say it !Still so sad the world lost his special talents RIP Ian

What an odd format - but a beautiful performance.

I'm surprised to hear Ian Charleson say ''... but it hasn't stopped me appreciating the ladies'' ( appreciative chuckles from the men). I guess he hadn't come out then. As a gay man myself, who came out when I was about 10, I'm always surprised and saddened when I hear gay men feeling obliged to 'reassure' others that he's just 'one of the boys'.
What is this from? I recognize David Rintoul (Darcy from the very faithfull BBC Pride and Prejudice) and they're all wearing mikes, so are they performing as themselves?
