Ah, I see what you mean... I don't believe you can set a different text sound per contact -- I think you can only have one universal custom message alert.

@pedrovay2003 but what about setting a diff txt sound for each contact? i used to do that on my old chocolate but my new env3 can't do it and i'm lookin into this phone soon. i miss that feature can this do it too?

You can set any sound you want to have as your text notification on this phone, yes.

I get mine in 2 months!!! Uhhhh I don't wanna wait :( does this phone have an option for setting an mp3 or song as your texting ringtone? I really want a phone that can have songs as texting ringtones. If there are any smartphones like that anyone let me know .
