http://ScottThom.com These exercises are great to increase leg strength and improve knee stability. Single leg box squats by themselves are great for all levels and strengths, be careful when you load with a medicine ball or sport cord, make sure you're strong enough and experienced enough I don't want any accidents! Sprinkle them in with your leg workout, take care and create a great day!

  • It's all about spreading knowledge! Appreciate you viewing- Coach T

  • That's not very useful. The hardest part of the pistol is the bottom. This does not address that.

  • Hello AmazingOti, appreciate your comment and it is actually very useful for beginners since they will not have the strength to finish the pistol at the bottom of the exercise. Over time you can graduate to doing an actual one legged box squat (on top of box, not having to sit). Create a great weekend!!!! -Coach T

  • This is great, thank you for sharing

  • These are awesome exercises! One of the better videos on youtube. Especially for knee stability! I also use a band around knees for iso-abduction holds with the free leg.

  • this dude must dunk so easy. his legs are fukn jacked for him to squat like that easily

  • Thanks for the conversation and contribution. I want to thank you for allowing the discussion even though the comments may not have been overwhelming worship of your approach. I've run across other contributors that would remove any comment that wasn't simply praise about the video. I respect you for that and keep improving yourself.

  • Beginners should just skip this all together and do pistol negatives to build strength throughout the entire movement.

No matter how good they get at this, they will never be able to do a pistol with it. They'll lose control and fall as soon as they go lower than where the box was.
