The Hearse continues its journey north through Hendon, a Jewish area of London and home of the Metropolitan Police's world renowned training college.

After the funeral, Sidney Clarke stated in the 2003 interview the hearse was taken out of service two months after Diana's funeral. However, I remember seeing it on television twice after that; first when Sidney Clarke was on television at new year 1997/98 being interviewed about his Royal Victoria Medal at Leverton's offices and again in February 1998 when it was in use for the funeral of controversial Conservative politician, Enoch Powell. Powell was most famous (or infamous) for his 'Rivers of Blood' speech in the 1960s opposing non-white immigration to the UK.

Sidney Clarke went on to claim that Leverton's were inundated with requests in the years following from people wanting to have their loved ones' funerals using B626 MRK and him as the driver.

B626 MRK was decommissioned at some point but he continued to get lots of Diana related driving jobs right up until his retirement in 2002.

Next, the fate of the hearse...

  • I was there...

  • @katiebob53 If only Diana had retained her official protection squad...........if only she and Charles had been happy............if only..........if only.

  • @katiebob53 that is really not true, you know that. you can't associate thinks that happen in life to tenuous incidents - that is called life.

  • i remember this bit so much i was thinking i will never see diana again now i cried so much

  • peoples behaviour is impecable, just goes to show we can pull together in this country and be a team lets get back this spirit , help each other and stand together again.

  • The only other event to receive as much attention in most of our lifetimes was September 11th.

  • 'wow' and 'exciting' were not the emotions felt by the population of Great Britain. Our hearts were broken.

  • Crash of the heart my dear. If The "Prince" had done his duty to his wife, there would had never been a "CRASH" She was already "CRUSHED" IN her heart.

  • You said that very corrrectly. An interruption of a true love. Charles should never had been called a "Prince" He was never worthy. You don't pick a beautiful person and have an affair or fetish on the side knowing it all along while praying upon a beautiful life of a person that meant the world to her and made changes in hearts.

  • Because that horse-faced whore Camilla meddled in and destroyed Diana's marriage.
