She generated so much excitement and joy! I saw audiences whipped into a frenzy by the power, speed and her amazing agility! Once you heard her live you understood. It was a huge miracle of a voice!

WOW ... !! The ending blew me out of my seat!!
-
I don't recall anyone but Sutherland sing it - and so well - but I will stand corrected.

I miss Joan; but that said they're so many clips here on You Tube and on disc, none better than the 'Art of the Prima the Donna'. Listen to, for example, Bel raggio lusinghier and Handel's 'Let the bright Seraphim & l'm sure you'll be won over.

Thanks for all your records " La Stupenda"'
(1926-2010)

La Stupenda la voz de la Centuria, una de las mejores de la historia de la Opera.
mantuvo su voz por 40 años cantando al mas alto nivel.

Thank Sutherland.
-
and Sutherland remains the best (who sings this)
-
u can say it again! ;)!!!!

You can also thank Bonynge, who discovered the original manuscript. Over 40 years later sopranos still sing this final aria thanks to them.
I wanna cry listening to the last (several) note(s). Should I thank Bellini or Suherland? I dunno.
