For 28 years Hot Air Balloon Pilots have teamed up with boat captains and float out over Elephant Butte lake for a baton exchange and target drop. Boats are the chase crews that push, tow and piggy back ride the balloons back to shore. Elephant Butte New Mexico host this event every September, at Elephant Butte Lake State Park.
