a guru? is that the product name?

think you would need A fire box at least 1/4 the size of the cooking space. but if you really want to control you're heat get A guru. it works of A fan that blows in you're firebox and it comes on when the cooking space falls below tenp. vary cool. no stocking. there about $200.00

if you are not going to move it around thought about useing fire brick fire box.
if you want A good even heat tuning plates is the way to go.

I was thinking to maintain 70-270 degree heat maybe a copper tubing system around the bottom insides and a plate sticking out into the center to make the best even heating process. If there is gonna be between half a ton and a ton of meat in it you want it to all cook evenly...

do you weld? is it going to be on A axle or stationary.

not much anymore, my Uncle has a big welding shop... I hope to trade BBQ...
I was talking with Gordon and the little smoke box he uses in Scotland last 8 hours. Just need to find a reliably controlled way to heat the box now...
currently it is on skids, I do not plan on taking this one on the road. You could cook at least 2 cows in that thing... But I can drag it around with the tractor or my Uncle has a boom truck that lifts it from the top corner rings.
