Lullabies; a jemi story -NINE
Joe sipped at his hot chocolate and I shifted in my chair. Joe rolled his eyes, "Spit it out, Dems."
"Are you retarded?!" I screamed at him. He put his hot choclate down and smiled slightly. "What the hell were you thinking, Joseph! You could have got pneumonia!" His smile grew as I continued with my rant.
"Calm down, babe." He told me as he pulled me next to him on the couch.
I relaxed against his still damp body, "You might get sick," I whispered.
He stroked my hair, "I'll be fine, alright?"
I nodded and got off the couch and headed upstairs. Joe followed. "What are you doing?" he asked as I rooted around at the bottom of my closet.
"Aha!" I pulled out an old t-shirt and some sweats throwing them at Joe.
He caught them and raised his eyebrows, "I wore them one time at yours and forgot to give them back." I explained, "Now get changed."
Joe walked into the bathroom with the clothes. I lay back on the bed and closed my eyes.
My eyes shot open when I heard a bang, I sat up quickly. "Joe?" I whispered into the darkness.
He groaned, "Yeah, it's me."
I got up and quickly turned on the light, Joe was on his knees on the floor. I raised my eyebrows.
"I fell over your shoe," He explained sheepishly, holding up my battered converse.
I giggled and held out my hand to help him up, he grabbed it and I pulled him to his feet.
"Thanks, I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you. I was trying to be quiet." I giggled and lay back down on my bed.
"No problem, Joe." He perched on the end of my bed, "So erm, how was your date?" I asked, instantly regretting it.
He smiled impishly. "Awesome, I really like her."
I felt my heart break, again. "Thats ..great Joe." I told him forcing a smile. "Are you staying tonight?" I asked.
He looked at his watch, "If you don't mind, I really cannot be bothered walking home."
I moved over on my bed and he gently lay down next to me after turning off the light, "Goonight Demi," Joe whispered.
I moved as far away from Joe as I could and pulled my knees upto my chest letting the tears roll down my cheeks. "Night," I whispered. My voice shook slightly but I could hear Joe's light snores from next to me.
