2009 Art Deco tobiano pinto colt at his German Oldenberg Breeders Society branding/inspection at 4 months old. This is his first time off our ranch and he was quiet, brave and easy to handle, like his bloodlines predicted. He will mature at 16.2 or 16.3. He is for sale at www.gracesporthorses.com. His two yr. old full brother is for sale as well. Art Deco offspring have done extremely well in the show ring and are known for their great minds, and athletic abilities.
You can reference his sire at www.silverwoodfarm.com or google Art Deco stallion. His father is well known on the East Coast as a great sire of hunters and dressage horses. Unfortunately, Art Deco is very old now, and getting offspring out of him is tricky. This colt, Art Nouveau, and his full brother, Artful Dodger (a yearling stallion) have been inspected and registered with the German Oldenburg Verband (GOV not ISR/oldenburg) so he is a registered main book Oldenburg.
His mother carries predominantly European DNA: TBs of Great Britain, Irish, French, and Argentina lineage, but is registered with the Jocky Club of America. Like the European breeders, I choose my broodmares for their disposition, athletic potential, beauty and DNA and don't breed old, lame show horses. Her other non-colored sons, however, jump correctly, cleaniy and think jumping is fun. The GOV inspectors liked his TB mother so much that they will make her a main book Oldenburg mare so that these Art Deco colts will be considered as GOV stallions if inspected, shown and approved.
I am an old breeder (60 years old) with 40 years experience, but am not in physical condition (due to arthritis) to do this, so I am hoping that someone will keep one of them a stallion so that the USA can use this great DNA to further improve our horses. He has athletic, with strong conformation, a pretty TB head, great feet, and a very loving, quiet, brave, respectful and intelligent disposition....all qualities that our colored horses could use to improve the colored horse breeding pool. BUT he will make an OUTSTANDING, and VERY FUN GELDING if his future owner decided to geld him since he has never been bred has lived in a pasture all his life with other older geldings who dominate him and have taught him great manners.
Aw, he's cute! i have a 4yo Art Deco mare, she's amazing! LOOOOOOVE art deco babies! She's going to be my equitation horse.
