  • Right jst looked up his best he ever did was 565lb or u could say 256.81kg wtf.. That's more than I can deadlift and abwt the same height as him, my best deadlift at the moments 210kg. or even though he didn't take steroids he used to drink Ox blood as part of his protein diet???????? Nasty nasty nasty yuk.

  • This guy was insanely strong!!!!!

Horrendous technique he basically did an upright row bent his knees flipped the weight back into press position and push pressed it like it was a toothpick wtf. he did a 2.85 ton backlight aswell or u could say he basically back lifted a Volvo xc90 give or take wtf is the word I'm looking for I think.

  • Re: that's a clean and press 50 years ago

No, it was not a C&P. This lift is a push press actually, but this lift here is his version of a clean and jerk. He could not do a proper split jerk very well. This method was tolerated even though it was technically invalid even as a jerk due to press-out. The lift was done fast and smooth enough to get whites in a day when technique standards were not as demanding as now. Remember, his best push press was eventually 565 lb so this was light.

  • Well if this was a press it shouldn't have passed with that very pronounced knee kick. Are you sure it wasn't the clean and jerk part of the contest? It certainly would have been a three white light C&J and three red light press.

  • that's a clean and press 50 years ago. he could clean and jerk 600lbs with today's excercise science

  • No shit people are doing this weight at lighter bodyweights. But they have also had 50+ years to practice, with better nutrition, and steroids. This guy literally just upright rowed and than press 435lbs. He didn't clean it (the way they do it now), and he didn't do a split jerk to get the weight up. This is very impressive to me.

  • @YoungPLER Zhang Guozheng

  • @dgwear69 160lbs guys press 435? Where are these beasts?
