Comodo free firewall also includes an antivirus which can be installed as both a standalone firewall or a standalone antivirus or as an Internet Security Suite. I installed this as a standalone firewall as I am happy with the antivirus and antimalware programs that I use.

  • I regret to get back to the subject but it's giving me the tickles.

To all of you who are considering installing CIS, watch the video for Comodo 3.8 (it's valid for the present version) at mrizos channel, here in youtube.

Properly installed and configured it is the ultimate protection.

I like your work cotojo, but you are wrong in this one.

    Regards,

    Jose.

  • @ Jose - Please bear in mind this was V3,9, 72.25MB download, new version slimmed down to 38.64MB. This version did NOT support Windows 7 times change and so does software and as time progresses and allows I also re-evaluate new versions. With a smaller download size it should also be a faster install and other modifications to the software.Comodo is one of three that I advocate the use of, depending on what the end user is looking for and is comfortable with :-)

  • Thanks for your answer. I'll keep on the look for your new videos. Keep up the good work.

    Regards,

    Jose.

  • Jose - Thank you, Hopefully it won't be too long before I get around to the latest version of comodo :-)

  • You are wrong cotojo.

Defense+ is not heavy on resources, quite the contrary. It is, also, much better than Threatfire. Besides, it works perfectly with any AV.

To advise not to install it is to give the wrong message to users.

The only HIPS out there that works as good as D+ is Online Armor's.

As to Iobit... that's a chinese company who's beeing acused of stealing Malwarebytes signatures.

  • jossmartins - We agree to disagree. I found that Defense+ used more resources than Threatfire and I can't fault Online Armor's HIPS, but sadly is does not play well on all machines. Essentially, it is down to the end user to decide what works best for them :-)

  • which do u recommend. ZoneAlarm (not a Rogue but it is a good firewall) or comodo internet security.

  • I use the free comodo firewall and to date have only had one problem where something got corrupted and I had to reinstall other than that it's amazing no other problems and has saved me from a few malicious bits of software over the last few years too.

  • comodo whit malwarebytes is the best protection you can have

  • Jossmartins the new comodo 4.0 is amazing it even protected the system almost 100 percent with the antivirus not even turned on.

  • make sure u tell everyone to disconnect from the internet before disabling the windows firewall if u haven't installed Comodo firewall first . the new firewall should disable windows firewall at installation
