I am a Travel Broker for Travel Managers Group and work out of my home in Te Atatu. A Travel Broker is exactly the same as your normal travel agent, only I am independant from any of the major chains. I still use the same suppliers and have the same access to all the specials that you see advertised throughout the year.

A Travel Broker is a lot more flexible than your normal retail travel agent. I work my own hours and I'm able to meet you to discuss your travel plans at a time that is convenient for you. That way, you can enjoy your lunch hour or relax at home without having to rush out to get to the travel agent before closing time and without having to waste a saturday morning waiting with 10 other people for your travel agent to get to you! I provide the full service and expertise you would expect from a travel agent, without the constraint of a 9-5 working day.

I have worked in the travel industry for over 10years and during that time have travelled extensively. I've been overseas on average about 4 times a year. I've travelled to nearly all the pacific islands, most of the main travel destinations in Asia, China, Los Angeles and San Diego, Canada, New York, London, Paris and Italy. I've also been to Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast a few times each as well.

I worked in wholesale travel for 7years which taught me a lot of destinational and product knowledge, especially around Europe. I love to travel and still try to get away as often as I can to experience new destinations and also to check out destinations I haven't been to for a while. Most of these trips have been for work, so I've been able to see a lot of hotels and experience a lot of the sights my clients experience, so I have a good knowledge of the types of hotels/resorts there are at a destination and who they would cater to.

I specialise in Leisure travel which is basically holiday packages anywhere in the world. There are specials all the time to the islands and to Asia and USA/Canada. UK/Europe specials are usually released around October/November for the coming year, with a scattering of specials still being released in the first 4 months of the year. There are definately seasons for the different destinations and only travel agents that have been in the industry long enough are aware of what to expect and when (although, this does change from time to time). I can also arrange more adventure type travel, whether it be treking in the Himilayas, doing the Inca Trail, going on safari in Africa, having a penguin stand on your foot in Antarctica or experiencing the real India, whereever you want to go and whatever you want to do, I can help you get there and do it.

Even if you're looking just for an airfare to somewhere, I can help with all types of travel arrangements for singles, couples, families and groups. I will even post out brochures or drop them off, or you can visit me at my home office (by appointment).
