I see your point. However, if they can put those options it will be impossible for them to keep their price the same. It will be the same as the accord. If the price is the same as the accord, most folks will go for the accord including me. The Optima is about $5k cheaper. You can get the price even lower

Oh yeah the price would definitely be higher with those added options, BUT if an Accord was equipped the same, it would still be more expensive than the Optima. As it is, the '09 Accord is cheaper in some ways than the Optima. Just little things. Like the Accord's trunk lid is not carpeted and it uses old-style cheap hinges, while the Optima has a carpeted trunk lid and modern hinge design. I was shocked when I saw this on a Honda Accord review.

most people dont look at those little details these details are irrelevant when purchasing a car. i would go with the honda if the optima was the same price.

I disagree. If it was irrelevent, car companies wouldn't spend the money and charge it to you to put extra details in/on the car. Cheaper cars have things missing like carpeted trunk lid, underhood insulation, cheaper trunk hinges, no glovebox light, no vanity mirrors/lights. I know when car companies cut corners, these are the types of features that are eliminated because they don't think consumers will notice. I do.

these things dont matter. It is the engine, the safety equiment, technical things that matter.

What matters depends on who you ask. I agree with you, but a lot of people are more interested in the image of the car than anything else.

And that is why the Kia fails in luring customers. There is still a sense that Kia is a bad car. It is better than American made cars

Kia is slowly getting better about this and will continue to as they come out with new exciting models. Look at the images they've created to lure buyers with the Forte and Soul. That whole hampster campaign everyone talks.

I live in LA area and I haven't seen a Forte or the Soul for months.

Well that's weird. I see the Soul often (saw a lime green one today actually) and have seen several new Forte sedans already.
