The rule of law should be defined: Economic growth, political modernization, the protection of human rights. While I think you are confused about what the Rule of Law includes, I think you have a more honest approach than some, even if I think EVERYONE HERE entered illegally at one time or another except Native Americans. As far as Affirmative Action, if every minority stopped doing business with companies that didn't honor this, things would become equal VERY soon.

I think I did, if you re-read the definition of the Rule of Law. But here it is again:

Economic growth, political modernization, the protection of human rights.

While I think you are more fair minded than some, it is wise not to adopt the interpretation of white power groups, who define the "Rule of Law" as: the law is above everyone and it applies to everyone. I say this because with racial profiling, it doesn't!

Out In cali affirmative action will be taking on a new twist. lot of professors at UCLA are complaning about the "asian menace" and how scholarships are being rewarded to mostly asian people for the great achedamic ability. ever heard the joke? how to know if cambodian breaks into your house?..your dog is gone and your home work is done! I don't understand what black folks don't get about the ideas around AA that you shared. it's the same reason why the Boy Scouts shouldn't be forced to have gay Scout leaders & Augusta national Golf course shld not be forced to allow women! They are not subsidized by the fed government so they can do whatever they want! WHy don't people get that?

As for Affirmative Action, you are totally right, if a company only wants to hire eskimos that is their buisness not the governements, it is wrong for a government to push a single race of people on employers, can you imagine what would happen if companies gave preferance to whites for jobs on the governments say so? End of the day its best man or woman for the job by me, that is equality.
